The design and construction of hazardous waste and hazardous chemical storage and treatment systems require special expertise and understanding of the physical and chemical properties of the chemicals involved, including toxicity, corrositivity, volatility, reactivity, viscosity, and flammability. The applicability of various codes and regulations, e.g. building, fire, OHSA, EPA, ANSI, ASME, etc. must be considered.
