Energy

Htec Systems is prepared to assist your company with the implementation of an energy saving program to reduce energy costs, especially in the areas of design and construction of facilities and manufacturing systems.

An energy conscious company would:

  • First, conduct a thorough energy audit
  • Establish a baseline by collecting operating data
  • Identify specific areas for analysis
  • Implement the program
  • Monitor performance on a continuous basis
  • Continue to improve. (Deming/Lean PDCA)

A few of the possible energy saving programs that HTEC uses to provide assistance:

  • Purchase and install energy efficient lighting, electric motors, pumps, fans and associated systems (purchasing, design and installation assistance)
  • Install variable frequency drives to vary output (chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, ventilation systems) on an as-required basis
  • Operate these systems, on an “as-needed” basis, rather than turn ON at the start of the day and turn OFF at the end of the day (control systems)
  • Monitor energy consumption on a real-time basis (control systems)
  • Shift operation of high electrical energy systems to off-peak hours (monitor electrical consumption)
  • Insulate buildings and as much as possible and consider green roofs (LEED)
  • Optimize heating/power/steam systems to minimize CO2 emissions and reduce waste heat (control systems)
  • Recover excess heat (air & water) through heat exchangers and store excess heat/cold for future use (recovery)
  • Install photovoltaic cells to generate electrical power; and Install wind turbines to generate electrical power
